Philanthropy is a positive force in our society and an essential component of a healthy nonprofit sector. Yet there are alarming trends in significantly declining rates of giving and volunteering that, unless we turn them around, it will have an impact on the civic and cultural fabric in every community in the country. Our Trustee, Sonya Campion, helped establish The Generosity Commission, a project of Giving USA, to examine trends, policies and cultural recommendations to increase philanthropic and volunteer engagement. Recommendations will come in the fall of 2023.
